Job summary

Holland Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to support the Lab Preanalytical team. The role involves specimen collection, labeling accuracy, and patient comfort during procedures, under supervision. Strong communication, critical thinking, and basic computer skills are essential for LIS/HIS access.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS/CPR certification, and a valid Michigan driver’s license. Work is full-time with varied shifts on both main campus and off-site locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or higher
• BLS/CPR through American Heart Association
• Valid State of Michigan driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Collects blood samples using standard venipuncture techniques and ensures proper labeling and patient identification.
• Performs urine drug screens, COC collection, blood alcohol and H. pylori breath tests per protocol.
• Manages specimen workflow, processes orders, and ensures timely delivery to the lab.
• Maintains phlebotomy supplies and equipment; performs off-site phlebotomy as assigned.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in quality initiatives and CAP guideline adherence.
• Performs all laboratory order entry accurately and communicates necessary information to Diagnostics Customer Service.
