Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Community, PRN to support outpatient operations in the Main Lobby area. The role focuses on patient checkout, prescription processing, and safe, high-quality filling workstations, with no bedside delivery or clinical responsibilities.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
CPhT certification verified through the PTCB.
Active OBOP registration as CPT, RPT, or Technician Trainee.

Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists in filling inpatient orders and document completion.
Prepare, deliver, and collect pharmacy items across the medical center.
Perform floor and stock checks; unit reviews as required.
Monitor stock for outdated medications and dispose of them properly.
Process returns/refunds to patient accounts; compound non-sterile meds per USP795.
Prepackage medications per SOPs.
Answer phones and assist callers not needing pharmacist judgement.
Interact with EPIC, Pyxis, Carousels, and Pharmacy Keeper software.
Assist customers at service window (house staff, couriers).
Perform general cleaning in pharmacy areas.
Complete mandatory education and training for competencies.
