Job summary

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston seeks a Pharmacy Technician I, OPD to support outpatient pharmacy operations under supervision. You will staff pharmacy locations as needed and assist with filling medication orders, inventory, and QA steps.

You will work with EHR and other systems, ensuring timely delivery of orders, while maintaining professionalism and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience is not required but Massachusetts registration and PTCB/Intern licensing timelines

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy Registration as Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee.
• PTCB certification within 2 years of hire or MA Pharmacy Intern License.
• No prior pharmacy technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Staff in pharmacy locations/areas as required.
• Fills medication orders according to policy.
• Ensures timely delivery and/or completion of medication orders and/or supplies.
• Utilizes EHR and inventory management systems to document duties, troubleshoot as necessary.
• Maintains the Pharmacy inventory: sorting, stocking, rotation, expiration checks.
• Performs and documents quality control steps (e.g., barcode scanning).
• Cleans sterile and non-sterile areas of the pharmacy as assigned.
• Trains other employees as assigned.
• Communicates and escalates issues or problems.
• Responds to and manages questions from patients and triaging calls from providers,
• Manages assigned claims-related adjudication issues with occasional need for assistance.
