The Pharmacy Technician I, OPD at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute provides support to pharmacy operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Qualifications

• The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy Registration as a Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee is required.
• PTCB certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire, or MA Pharmacy Intern License is required.

Responsibilities

• Fills medication orders according to policy and with proficiency in advanced prescriptions.
• Ensures timely delivery and/or completion of medication orders and supplies.
• Maintains Pharmacy inventory: sorting, stocking, rotation, and expiration date checks.
• Performs quality control steps such as barcode scanning and documentation.
• Trains other employees as assigned.
• Responds to and manages questions from patients and triaging calls from providers.
• Manages claims-related adjudication issues with occasional assistance.
