Sentara Health Plans seeks a Pharmacy Technician I for outpatient pharmacy operations in Norfolk, VA. The role supports dispensing under supervision, maintains stock, and helps manage patient encounters with Epic and Omnicell systems.

The ideal candidate has a Virginia license and at least 1 year of experience, with a high school diploma or equivalent. This permanent, on-site position offers a competitive benefits package and rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician license required in the state of practice.
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License is required.
• CTPhT license (NHA/PTCB) preferred/required by role.
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs care delivery and dispensing under supervision of a pharmacist.
• Trains new employees and supports team onboarding.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for patient care.
• Triage and escalate questions outside the technician scope of practice.
• Uses systems for processing patient information and prescriptions.
• Maintains QA compliance with departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
