Job summary

Intermountain Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, CO seeks an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists and technicians in a fast-paced, hospital-connected retail setting. You will help patients access medications and ensure safe, accurate dispensing while collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent is required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding pharmacy practice and drugs.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in collecting clinical and patient information and maintains required records.
• Prepares medication orders, performs calculations, and compounds medications per site policy and law.
• Ensures supervision and verification by pharmacists and understands when to escalate tasks.
• Maintains medication supplies and monitors controlled substances for security and accuracy.
• Communicates with caregivers, participates in quality and patient safety initiatives, and raises urgent issues to the pharmacist.
