Job summary

St. Elizabeth Edgewood is seeking an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician to assist under a licensed pharmacist, handling dispensing, inventory control, and medication reconciliation while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.

You'll support hospice prescriptions, third-party billing, and offsite facilities, including a Discharge Medication Delivery Service, with emphasis on empathy, accuracy, and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the state board or obtain registration prior to start date.
• Must sit for PTCB or NHA (or Indiana Board-approved program) within 30 days of eligibility.
• Active pursuit of national certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor hospice prescriptions with proper documentation and adherence to procedures and state law.
• Assist pharmacist in dispensing medications in a timely and accurate manner.
• Oversee expiration dates and maintain organized stock using FIFO principles.
• Answer phones promptly while complying with HIPAA.
• Greet customers warmly and assist with their needs upon entering the pharmacy.
• Assist with ordering and delivery processes, including wholesaler orders and inventory checks.
