Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville, FL is seeking an Outpatient L2 Pharmacy Technician focusing on prior authorizations to support medication access. You will review insurance requirements, submit and track prior authorization requests, and communicate with providers and payors to ensure timely access to medications.

The ideal candidate has Florida board registration, CPHT/XCPT certification within 6 months, and experience in outpatient or prior authorization environments.

Qualifications

• All Pharmacy Technicians must be registered with the Florida Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
• L2 technicians must have CPhT or XCPT certification within 6 months of hire.
• Education, Experience, and Training: Must meet all requirements of a Pharmacy Technician Level 1, including competencies.
• One of the following requirements must be met: 12 months of Shands Pharmacy Technician experience; 6 months plus two years hospital/institutional or retail experience.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and to contribute to effective working relationships; experience managing projects preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
• Some knowledge of insurance and billing regarding ambulatory practices highly desired.
• As a condition of employment, must be accessible by telephone.
