Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of drugs and their actions; knowledge of state and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions to assure accuracy, ascertain needed ingredients, and evaluate suitability.
• Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage.
• Counsel patients on medications, administration, side effects, and storage.
• Monitor patient health and progress in response to drug therapy.
• Provide oversight and supervision for pharmacy services and staff.
• May perform unit dose dispensing, IV admixtures, outpatient prescriptions, and use electronic medical records.
