Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join a clinical team providing comprehensive evaluations and personalized care plans. The role involves diagnosing, prognosticating, developing and implementing rehabilitation strategies, and evaluating progress throughout the episode of care.

You will collaborate with physicians, therapists, and staff to ensure safe, effective, patient-centered outcomes. Active Rhode Island OT licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Active OT license in Rhode Island required.
• Graduates must practice under supervision if not yet licensed.
• Active BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Examines and evaluates patients.
• Establishes diagnosis, prognosis, and individualized plans of care.
• Implements treatment interventions based on plan of care and precautions.
• Directs and coordinates patients' rehabilitation plans of care.
• Evaluates progress and revises goals and plans accordingly.
• Educates/care for patients and caregivers.
• Anticipates discharge/home needs and resources.
• Completes documentation and charges accurately and timely.
• Completes clinical documentation reflecting eligibility/medical necessity.
• Makes referrals for additional diagnostic testing and/or services.
• Applies evidence-based practice to all aspects of clinical care.
• Seeks guidance when necessary to ensure safe patient care.
• Complies with hospital policies and guidelines.
• Supports departmental teamwork.
• Completes mandatory departmental and hospital training.
• Provides education to other departments, students, and outside agencies.
