Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, FL seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat orthopedic patients. You will develop and implement plans of care, document progress, and collaborate with physicians to optimize referrals. The role includes supervising staff and maintaining professional standards.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred.
• Active PT license is required (or PT-TEMP as allowed).
• Experience in orthopedic patient care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and plan care for physical therapy patients according to scope and standards.
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
• Provide patient and physician education to support referrals and outcomes.
• Supervise PT assistants and rehabilitation aides following regulations and standards.
• Maintain productivity and adjust schedules to meet patient needs.

Job Description:

• Up to $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for Eligible Applicants




• Up to $3000 Relocation Bonus for Eligible Applicants




• Location: Sports Medicine and Rehab 120 Cypress Edge Dr. Palm Coast, FL 32164




• Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5 pm




• The anticipated minimum pay rate for this position is $36/hour.




• Determines physical therapy diagnosis and establishes a plan of care, making recommendations for referral if treatment is needed outside the scope of physical therapist practice.




• Documents and charges accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policy and procedures.




• Participates in marketing to physicians and physician practices to build referral relationships.




• Performs evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards.




• Participates in marketing to physicians/physician practices to build referral relationships.




• Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community.




• Adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers and programs as approved and observed by the manager or director.




• Practices principles of professional development by maintaining clinical competencies, using best and/or evidence-based practices, and serving as a clinical instructor.




• Oversees the care provided by physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides, according to established regulations and practice standards.




• Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.




• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department, through effective time management and clinical efficiency and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required.




• Designs and implements treatment plan of care utilizing practice standards, recommended techniques, modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.




• Assesses patient ability to safely and effectively perform functional mobility skills and evaluates muscle, nerve, joint, and integumentary systems.




• Monitors patient response and progress to treatment, modifying the treatment plan as appropriate.




• Performs other duties as assigned

Education:

• Doctorate [Preferred]

Field of Study:

• in Physical Therapy

Work Experience:

• Experience treating Orthopedic patients [Preferred]
