University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Orthopedics & Rehabilitation team in an outpatient clinic setting, supporting academic surgeons and the care team.

The APP may assist in the operating room and provide periodic inpatient coverage, with a focus on evidence-based orthopedic care, patient safety, and efficient clinic operations.

Competenze

• Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program (Master’s or Doctoral degree) approved by the Vermont Board of Nursing or national accrediting agency
• Bachelor’s degree for PA track; Master’s degree preferred
• Current RN license; APRN license in Vermont; DEA registration or eligibility
• ARC-PA accredited PA program completion; NCCPA certification; PA license in Vermont; DEA registration or eligibility

Mansioni

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations: history, exam, differential diagnoses
• Order and interpret radiographs, MRI, CT, labs; integrate results into care
• Develop and implement treatment plans with supervising physicians
• Perform in-office procedures (joint injections, aspirations, splinting, casting, wound care)
• Provide preoperative education and postoperative follow-up; monitor complications
• Educate patients/families on diagnoses, options, and recovery expectations
• Document encounters accurately in the EHR
• Assist in operating room as needed; postoperative coordination
• Provide inpatient orthopedic service coverage: rounds, orders, discharge planning, communication with teams
