Job summary

Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the Walk-Ins team. This full-time role provides inpatient and outpatient management of surgical patients under physician supervision, with opportunities to participate in multidisciplinary rounds and perioperative care.

You will assess patients, develop treatment plans with the care team, assist in the OR, prescribe medications, and contribute to quality

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner: MN/MSN/DNP/PhD/DNS nursing degrees.
• Physician Assistant: graduate of accredited PA program.
• Licensure: APRN license in Florida with national advanced certification; current BLS.

Responsibilities

• Provides inpatient and outpatient management and co-management of surgical patients.
• Assesses physical and psychosocial status; develops diagnosis and treatment plans with interdisciplinary team.
• Performs or assists with surgical procedures and post-operative care; prescribes medications as appropriate.
• Participates in patient education, quality initiatives, and clinical research activities when indicated.
• Teaches students, residents and interns in complex techniques and procedures.
