Job summary

MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Acute Care NP (ACNP) or PA to join our Orthopedic Surgery team. This is a full-time outpatient opportunity with a small inpatient component, working alongside surgeons, residents, and a large APP team.

The role features a Monday–Friday schedule, daytime hours, and inpatient rounding to accommodate trauma patients. Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits are provided, with strong academic and resident

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant.
• Eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia.
• Prior orthopedic surgery, trauma, or inpatient surgical experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient orthopedic clinic duties within a collaborative APP team.
• Morning rounds on orthopedic and trauma inpatients; inpatient orthopedic consultations.
• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, residents, and multidisciplinary specialists; support resident physician program.

MedStar Medical Group is seeking an experiencedAcute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) orPhysician Assistant (PA) to join our growingOrthopedic Surgery team atMedStar Washington Hospital Center, a nationally recognizedLevel I Trauma Center and leading academic medical center in Washington, D.C.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a collaborative orthopedic program, working alongside a team of orthopedic surgeons, residents, and six experienced advanced practice providers in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Position Highlights

• Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule, roughly 7 AM to 4 PM
• Daytime hours with an early morning start to accommodate inpatient rounding
• Most time spent outpatient in the clinic
• Small inpatient component, including:
  • Morning rounding on orthopedic and trauma patients
  • Inpatient orthopedic consultations
• Collaborative practice within a large, experienced APP team
• Opportunity to work in a nationally recognized academic health system with resident physician support
