Job summary

MedStar Washington Hospital Center is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant for our Hematology/Oncology department. This position is full-time (1.0FTE) and is solely in the inpatient setting. Schedule for this position is 4 – 10 hour shifts.

This role is ideal for an Advanced Practice Provider who values patient-centered care, thrives in a team environment, and is capable of navigating complex and sensitive conversations with patients and their families.

Qualifications

• Completion and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
• CPR certification required.
• 1–2 years inpatient experience preferred.
• Eligible for Maryland and DC licenses.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient hematology/oncology care in a team-based setting.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to coordinate treatment plans.
• Engage with patients and families regarding complex conversations and care goals.
