Inova Health System's Inova Children’s division seeks a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join a rapidly growing program in Northern Virginia. Qualifications

• Certification - Basic Life Support required at start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support for Critical Care upon start; Pediatric Advanced Life Support for Pediatrics upon start.
• Licensure - Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with relevant state licenses and practice agreements as applicable in Virginia.
• Experience - 1-2 years APP experience in pediatric orthopedics preferred but new graduates may apply.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and manage musculoskeletal conditions in pediatric patients.
• Participate in on-call and trauma surgical management.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging as indicated.
• Write routine orders for labs, x-rays, and consultations.
• Perform history and physical examinations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Perform surgical or noninvasive procedures and create postoperative care plans.

Inova Children’s is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery APP to join a rapidly growing program at Northern Virginia's only dedicated children's hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a nationally recognized children’s health system and contribute to the continued expansion of comprehensive pediatric specialty care throughout Northern Virginia. This full-time position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

Our group is expanding to nine physicians, creating an opportunity to help shape the division's clinical identity and subspecialty depth.

The group provides comprehensive pediatric orthopedic care across spine and spinal deformity, limb deformity and reconstruction, orthopedic trauma, cerebral palsy and neuro-orthopedics, hand and upper extremity, sports medicine, and foot and ankle. Treatment capabilities include early-onset scoliosis management with casting and MAGEC rods, minimally invasive orthopedic surgery, and pre-participation examinations for young athletes.

Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) Job Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, treat, and manage muscle, skeletal, or bone conditions.

• Participate in call and call-related trauma surgical management

• Order or perform medical diagnostic or clinical tests.

• Write routine orders for appropriate laboratory studies, x-rays, and consultations.

• Perform and record history and physical examinations.

• Evaluate treatment options and develop individualized treatment plans.

• Perform surgical or noninvasive procedures and create postoperative-care plans.

Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) MinimumRequirements:

• Certification -Basic Life Support upon start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (for Critical Care) upon start;Pediatric Advanced Life Support (for Pediatrics) upon start

• Licensure -Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner; If Nurse Practitioner: RN Compact License(depending on State of primary residence) AND a license (or eligibility for) as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia AND a “Practice Agreement” signed by sponsoring/ supervising physician(s), AND a written “Scope of Practice/Protocol” signed by the supervising physician, AND “Drug Enforcement Administration License” (if prescribing controlled substances)

• Experience -No prior experiencerequired; New graduate considered

• Education -For Nurse Practitioners:Bachelor's Degree in NursingandMaster's Degree in Advanced ClinicalPractice or graduate of a post-masterscertificate program for nursepractitioners, OR certificate from an education program that is accredited by the Council of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs/Schools, AmericanAssociation of Colleges of Nursing of the National League for Nursing; For Physician Assistants: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program

• Payer Credentialing -Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor

• Medical Staff Credentialing - Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership andappropriate clinicalprivileges sufficient to perform all required services

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: 1-2 years APP experience in pediatric orthopedics
