Job summary

Mercy South is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Oncology & Hematology outpatient team at the David M. Sindelar Cancer Center in St. Louis, MO.

This full-time, day-shift role supports physicians and a collaborative care team to provide compassionate, patient-centered cancer care in an outpatient setting. Responsibilities include patient assessments, treatments, education, follow-up, care coordination, and documentation in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• No prior oncology experience required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, review histories, obtain vitals, assess conditions.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist physicians with patient care and specialty procedures.
• Educate patients about plans of care.
• Respond to questions, results, and follow-ups.
• Coordinate care with physicians and the care team.
• Assist with labs, imaging, and referrals.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Maintain infection prevention and stocked exam rooms.
• Remain calm and effective in urgent clinic situations.
