Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham is seeking an Outpatient Oncology Infusion Nurse per diem for day shifts in Needham, MA. The role involves administering chemotherapy/biotherapy, transfusions, and supportive care to oncology outpatients.

The nurse will educate patients and families, manage IV access, monitor therapy tolerance, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Requires RN license, BLS, and 1–3 years of related experience; chemotherapy certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
• RN License (registered nurse) required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• 1-3 years related work experience preferred.
• Chemo/Biotherapy certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Safely administer chemotherapy/immunotherapy and transfusions.
• Educate patient and family on self-care during treatment.
• Place and care for peripheral IV access and central venous access devices.
• Assess tolerance to therapy via labs and clinical signs.
• Collaborate with Radiation Therapy, Nutrition, Social Work and Physical Therapy.
