The role emphasizes independent assessment, complex clinical decision making, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary oncology team. The RN will administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy, manage adverse reactions, coordinate care across services, and serve as a clinical resource within the infusion unit,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN license.
• Current BLS certification and 1–3 years of related nursing experience.
• Oncology or infusion nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologics, supportive therapies, and transfusions.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments including labs, symptoms, and treatment tolerance.
• Identify and respond to adverse reactions and emergent clinical changes.
• Safely place, access, and maintain peripheral IVs and central venous access devices.
• Apply evidence-based oncology nursing standards in daily practice.
• Coordinate care across services including Radiation Therapy, Nutrition, Social Work, and Physical Therapy.
• Collaborate with BIDMC Boston and additional ambulatory sites.
• Triage, care management, and patient education on treatment plans and side effects.
