Job summary

ReDiscover, a nonprofit community mental health center, is seeking an Outpatient Nurse Manager to lead the Medication Services Department and ensure high-quality care for clients with mental health or substance use concerns.

You will supervise a team, collaborate with an internal MDT, and use assessments to guide timely clinical decisions and referrals. The role emphasizes education on medications and maintaining a trauma-informed, welcoming environment for all clients.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Missouri RN license or be eligible to practice in Missouri.
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory/management role.
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience in mental health or substance use disorder settings.
• Excellent customer service with a recovery-focused approach.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, and email applications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent, high-quality service in a Substance Use Disorder treatment facility.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate client care and communication.
• Conduct clinical assessments and referrals, and educate clients on medications and side effects as needed.
• Provide a welcoming, trauma-informed approach to clients, visitors, and staff.
• Maintain client information in the electronic medical record and document interactions.

This includes (but not limited to) making appropriate referrals, consulting with physician, and/or educating the client as appropriate.Educate client and families on symptoms, medications and side effects.Provide a welcoming approach towards all clients, visitors and guests from a trauma informed approach.Collect and maintain information about clients and document interactions within ReDiscover’s designated electronic medical record.Requirements of the PositionAvailable to work a full-time schedule, Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, (40-hour work week)Graduation from an accredited nursing program.Active Missouri license as a Registered Nurse (or the ability to practice as a RN in the state of Missouri).Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory and management role is required.Minimum of one (1) years of nursing experience in a mental health or substance use disorder setting.Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as use of email.Grow With UsWe’re committed to your professional development and will support your growth as a Outpatient Nurse Manager through training, collaboration, and meaningful work.Ready to join a team that’s passionate about people?
