Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of imaging.
  • ARRT or ARMRIT MRI registration.
  • 1+ years of MRI experience.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Maintains ARRT/ARMRIT, state license, BLS, and training.

Job Description Summary

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI) reports to the site supervisor and the radiology manager. Under general supervision, the MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations for physician interpretation.

Other duties as deemed necessary.

Requirements (Education, Work Experience, Licensure, Registry &/or Certifications)
  • Graduate from an accredited school of imaging.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) in MRI.
  • Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be familiar with age specific criteria.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.

Graduate from an accredited imaging program.

Registered in MRI by ARRT or ARMRIT.

BLS.

Experience: 1+ years.

Skills: General MRI exams, implants, elastography, defecography, breast, and cardiac. Port access / de-access. Exams on upright and mobile units. Rotate to other locations based on operational needs.

Job Description

Performs MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols while maintaining image quality, patient safety, and efficient workflow. Completes patient screening, exam documentation, and image verification in RIS and PACS to support timely physician interpretation

Maintains image quality, productivity, and efficient patient workflow.

Adheres to departmental standards and modality-specific protocols.

Provides safe, compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the imaging process.

Utilizes the SHIELD reporting platform when there is an event that occurs outside a normal encounter.

Adheres to all MRI safety requirements, including zone protocols, implant screening, and ferromagnetic safety practices.

Upholds compliance and organizational standards.

Performs routine equipment quality control checks, assisting with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and placing tickets as needed.

Supports onboarding and training of staff and students.

Facilitates a positive work and learning environment.

Participates in performance improvement initiatives related to quality, efficiency, patient, employee, and physician satisfaction, and safety.

Participates in staff meetings, lunch and learns, and quality meetings.

Maintains a professional demeanor in attitude, appearance, and communication.

Additional Job Description

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Work Experience: At least two years of modality specific experience required. Registration/Certifications: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). ARRT MRI registration required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Skill Sets: Fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate.
