Job summary

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a Registered Nurse for Outpatient Mental Health to provide nursing care for Veterans. The role delivers fundamental and advanced care, conducts assessments, and coordinates treatment within an interdisciplinary team.

Telework is not authorized; schedule is Monday–Friday with two Saturdays per month. The VA offers a comprehensive rewards package, including generous paid time off and pension benefits.

Qualifications

English language proficiency required.
Graduate of a school of professional nursing and eligible for state RN licensure.
Licensure/certification in nursing must be current and unrestricted.
Foreign nursing graduates must have a valid equivalency and licensure when applicable.
State licensure must be in good standing.

Responsibilities

Deliver fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned outpatients.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients.
Coordinate care focusing on patient education, self-management, and satisfaction.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to plan and optimize treatment.
Document nursing care and triage assessments per policy.
