Job summary

The Veterans Health Administration, part of the Department of Veterans Affairs, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Outpatient Mental Health. Qualifications include a nursing degree from an approved program, an active U.S. nursing license, English proficiency, and the ability to work in outpatient mental health settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program approved by a accrediting body.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted nursing license in the U.S.
• English language proficiency for direct patient care.
• Ability to work in outpatient mental health settings.
• Licensure/education requirements per VA qualification standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate care focused on education, self-management, and satisfaction.
• Facilitate care coordination with inpatient units and interdisciplinary teams.
• Perform triage, risk assessment, and documentation per policy.
• Support professional development and safety for patients and staff.
