The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Outpatient Mental Health.

This role focuses on patient-centered, recovery-oriented care for Veterans in an outpatient setting, coordinating with the care team and educating patients and families about illness and treatment plans. Responsibilities include triage, care coordination, and ensuring documentation of assessments and interventions in line with facility policy.

Qualifications

• English proficiency required for clinical practice and documentation.
• Graduate of an approved nursing program (ACEN/CCNE accreditation preferred).
• State licensure in good standing with ability to obtain licensure in a VA facility.
• Foreign education requires degree equivalency validation when applicable.
• Complete employment in VA follows specific qualification standards.

Responsabilités

• Provide and supervise direct patient care in outpatient mental health.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients and families on illness, medications, and treatment plans.
• Document nursing assessments, risk screens, and care plans per policy.
• Support safe and therapeutic care environments and mentor peers.
