Avera Health is seeking a qualified Coder II in Sioux Falls to promptly and accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient charts across multiple facilities. The role requires independent work with occasional guidance to meet quality and production goals.

The position emphasizes reviewing clinical documentation, querying physicians, and coordinating with HIM, billing, and providers while maintaining confidentiality and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Certifications required or completed within 180 days as listed.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate production statistics.
• Strong communication with physicians and staff to ensure complete documentation.

Responsabilités

• Review all aspects of patient documentation to assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient charts.
• Determine APC/EAPC and medical coding for outpatient types (ER, imaging, labs, etc.).
• Query clinicians to ensure full capture of the clinical record.
• Coordinate with HIM, billing, and providers as needed; maintain quality/production metrics.
