Laredo Technical Services, Inc. seeks an Outpatient Medical Coder/Auditor for Naval Health Clinic Quantico. This on-site role runs 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with full coding duties for outpatient encounters.

You will query documentation, educate staff, and perform focused audits to support coding compliance. Ideal candidates hold CPC/CCS-P, NAMAS CEMA or RHIT/RHIA certifications, and have 2–3 years of multi-specialty coding experience, familiar with ICD-CM, HCPCS, CPT, and reimbursement

Qualificações

• Requires a current coding certification CPC or CCS-P in professional services. (3+ certifications accepted)
• NAMAS CEMA certification for E&M auditing is required or preferred
• 2–3 years of medical coding and/or auditing experience in multiple specialties within 10 years
• Knowledge of ICD-CM, HCPCS, CPT and reimbursement methods
• Understanding of DHA/AFMS MCPO guidelines and coding compliance
• Experience with provider documentation queries and QA processes

Responsabilidades

• Assigns accurate codes for professional and institutional encounters per DHA/AFMS MCPO standards
• Adheres to coding guidelines to ensure ethical, complete coding
• Monitors regulatory requirements affecting coded information
• Reviews records for inconsistencies and completeness, prompts for documentation improvements
• Develops and submits provider queries per guidelines
• Educates providers and staff to improve coding clarity
• Performs focused MTF audits and QA/peer reviews as directed
• Maintains and audits data using DHA AFMS/MHS systems
