Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months MA experience or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program.
• Completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification required (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI).
• Maintains current certifications in required emergency response training (e.g. BLS).
• ROT Registered Orthopedic Technologist Required within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Sign on available for qualified candidates
• Perform medical assistant procedures under provider supervision within MA scope of work, per policy
• Prepares patient for rooming and exam
• Prepares and administers medications and immunizations
• Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes
• Collects and prepares laboratory specimens
• Provides basic education to patients
• Sets up aseptic and sterile procedures
• Perform other duties as required
