Job summary

Alameda Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Ambulatory Orthopedics Clinic in Alameda, CA. This part-time (0.6 FTE), day shift role supports clinicians with basic clinical tasks, phlebotomy, patient prep, and clerical functions.

The ideal candidate has graduation from a certified medical assistant program and active MA certification; BLS is required. You will work under supervision to deliver patient-centered care and coordinate with care teams across departments.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a certified/accredited medical assistant program.
• Active Medical Assistant certification (AAMA/AMCA/NCCT/MMCI/AMT) and BLS.
• Experience in outpatient setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic clinical, front office, and technical support under supervision.
• Assist clinicians with patient needs, prescriptions, messages and care coordination.
• Collect specimens (urine, sputum, stool) and transport to lab.
• Greet patients and prepare examination rooms, assist with procedures and obtain consents.
• Perform phlebotomy and basic non-invasive testing.
• Register patients, schedule appointments, and maintain records in the EHR.
