Job summary

Mammoth Hospital seeks a Medical Assistant to join our ambulatory clinic team in Bishop, CA. You will support clinicians, screen patients, record vitals, and assist with procedures to ensure smooth visits.

Ideal candidates are compassionate, organized, with strong communication and teamwork. Current CMA preferred; BLS is required; phlebotomy cert is a plus. Full-time, day shifts offered in Bishop.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Phlebotomy certificate preferred.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate clinician needs and carry out orders.
• Check EHR for patient arrival status and escort to exam rooms.
• Obtain and report vital signs and other patient information.
• Assist clinician with procedures.
• Maintain and clean exam/treatment areas and equipment.
• Instruct patients on lab, radiology, and testing preparations.

Job description

The Medical Assistant (MA) is part of a team concept for the delivery of patient care in the ambulatory clinic setting with an emphasis on disease prevention and health maintenance. This individual will work closely with the clinical staff, front desk personnel and other related departments. MA's assist in caring for the patient from a variety of ages ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, under the direction of physicians, mid-level providers, and nursing staff. MA is responsible for performing assigned duties within his/her capabilities and scope of practice.
