Job summary

Medical Associates Plus is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time role in Thomson, GA. The CMA will support patient care in an outpatient setting under licensed providers, performing clinical, administrative, and technical tasks, while upholding HIPAA, OSHA, and care coordination standards.

Required: graduate of an accredited CMA program, high school diploma or GED, and CPR/BLS is preferred. Prior EHR experience and outpatient clinic familiarity are highly valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required; certification through AAMA, AMT, or NCCT preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Additional training in phlebotomy, EKGs, pharmacology, and diagnostic testing preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is strongly preferred.
• Experience in outpatient/primary care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with direct patient care, including vital signs, patient histories, and clinical procedures.
• Administer medications as ordered by a physician or mid-level provider.
• Perform venipuncture, EKGs, IV starts (as allowed under supervision), and other diagnostic procedures.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) and maintain organized patient records.
• Provide patient education, discharge instructions, and assist with coordination of referrals and follow-up care.
• Monitor patients for clinical changes and report concerns to the provider promptly.
• Maintain medical equipment, ensure exam rooms are properly stocked, and report safety or equipment issues.
• Uphold infection control standards and comply with OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Support quality improvement and customer service initiatives.
• Communicate professionally with patients, staff, and external contacts.
