Job summary

Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant (0.40 FTE) to support clinical and administrative functions. Shift is Day, hours 7:30a–6:00p, with some Saturday coverage as assigned.

The role involves obtaining specimens, basic lab studies, and assisting with patient flow and appointment scheduling. A CMA/RMA and BLS are required or must be obtained within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification or registration as CMA or RMA within 90 days or active CMA/RMA status.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with health care services and specimen collection.
• Conduct routine lab studies of specimens.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as coordinating patient flow, scheduling appointments and handling phone messages.

Education

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
