Job summary

UK King’s Daughters is seeking a Medical Assistant I for our KD Cornerstone Primary Care clinic in Ashland, Kentucky. This on-site, full-time role supports clinicians in outpatient care, patient intake, and administrative tasks while maintaining patient privacy and service excellence.

The ideal candidate brings 0–2 years of healthcare experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant certifications (CCMA, RMA, NCMA or BLS).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with vocational/technical training.
• CCMA/RMA/NCMA or BLS certification preferred.
• 0–2 years of healthcare/clinical experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Check in and check out patients, schedule tests and procedures, verify insurance coverage.
• Prepare charts, enter charges, and maintain medical records.
• Record health history, vitals, and other pertinent data.
• Respond to patient calls and coordinate with clinicians as needed.
• Assist with medications, orders, tests, and referrals.
