Job summary

Tufts Medicine's Winthrop Family Practice is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You will prepare exam rooms, take vitals, assist with procedures, and help coordinate patient flow and billing under supervision.

Strong organizational and communication skills, BLS certification, and MA certificate are required. Experience with EMR systems and bilingual abilities are a plus. Training is provided, with a schedule Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant National Certification Attestation (AAMA/AMCA/AMT/NCCT/NHA).
• BLS Certification or obtain within three months.
• 0–2 years Medical Assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Controls and monitors patient flow to maximize efficient use of providers and exam rooms.
• Prepares medical records for patient visits and confirms patient data.
• Interacts with patients with strong customer service.
• Maintains clean, safe environments for patients and families.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares for provider visits.
• Assists with physical exams, treatments, and procedures as needed.
• Performs vital signs and records patient information.
• Performs specimen collection and point-of-care testing as ordered.
• Assists with referrals and prior authorizations as requested.
