Job summary

Comprehensive Treatment Centers in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Substance Use Counselor for our outpatient MAT program. You will provide compassionate individual and group counseling to patients with opioid use disorder, developing and documenting recovery plans and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include a high school diploma (Bachelor's or Master’s preferred) and practicum/licensure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in social or health services preferred.
• Practicum is required for licensure.
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings.
• Familiarity with MAT (methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone).
• Knowledge of CBT, MI and relapse prevention techniques.
• Documentation in line with state and federal guidelines.
• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, compassionate individual and group counseling.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery.
• Co-facilitate group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure timely documentation of patient care and incidents.
• Prepare individualized treatment plans for each patient.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Evaluate needs and referrals to other programs.
• May plan aftercare for assigned patients.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Perform case management to ensure quality care.
• Act as liaison between referrals and patients.
