Job summary

Tulsa Comprehensive Treatment Center, part of Acadia Healthcare, seeks a Substance Use Counselor to support patients with opioid use disorder. You will deliver individual and group counseling, document progress, and develop treatment plans within an outpatient MAT program in Tulsa, OK.

The role requires a Master’s degree in social or health services, knowledge of evidence-based practices (CBT, MI) and experience in addiction recovery settings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social or health services field.
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings (outpatient, residential, or correctional).
• Familiarity with MAT (methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone).
• Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions for substance use recovery.
• Knowledge of CBT, MI, and relapse prevention.
• Documentation experience per state/federal guidelines.
• Familiarity with state regulatory standards (42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission).
• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams with medical staff, case managers, and peer support specialists.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in individual and group counseling sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery.
• Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is completed timely and clearly.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for each assigned patient.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Evaluate patient needs and determine referrals to other programs or facilities.
• Plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
• Provide crisis intervention to patients as needed.
• Perform case management duties for patients.
• Act as liaison between referral sources and patients.
