ASC Overview

GW’s ASC delivers same-day surgical care across ENT, plastics, general surgery, ortho, and other specialties. The center operates in a high-efficiency model emphasizing safety, speed, and patient comfort.

Position Summary

The ASC Nursing Manager provides clinical and administrative leadership to ensure the delivery of outstanding ambulatory surgical care in a streamlined and supportive setting.

Main Tasks

  • Oversee daily operations and patient flow in the ASC
  • Lead staffing, education, and engagement of the nursing team
  • Collaborate with OR, pre-op, PACU, and administrative teams
  • Ensure compliance with ASC regulations and hospital policies
  • Monitor quality metrics and continuous improvement projects
  • Coordinate with supply chain and support services

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Licensure: Current RN license or eligibility to practice in the District of Columbia.
  • Experience: 5+ years in surgical nursing settings, 1+ year in management. Experience with CMS and AAAHC standards preferred.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; CNOR or CAPA certification preferred.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
