Job summary

AdventHealth in Lake Mary, Florida is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for a full-time day shift in our Sports Med and Rehab location. You will evaluate and treat patients, develop care plans, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

The position requires OT licensure and CPR certification; a Master's degree is preferred. Relocation or sign-on details are provided where applicable. Work hours and duties may adapt to patient needs across centers.

Qualifications

• OT licensure and CPR certification required
• Master's degree in OT preferred
• Experience in evaluations and treatment planning is expected
• Ability to educate patients and families about plans of care

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluations and re-evaluations using standard techniques.
• Designs and implements a treatment plan of care.
• Monitors progress and adjusts plans as needed; educates patients and families.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals for comprehensive care.
• Documents accurately and timely per policy.
• Provides discharge planning and guidance on adaptive equipment.
• Oversees OT assistants and rehabilitation aides.
• Maintains clinical competencies and participates in practice improvement.

Job Description:

• Up to $10,000 sign on bonus for eligible candidates
• Up to $3,000 relocation bonus for eligible candidates
• Location: Sports Med and Rehab Lake Mary (100 Waymont Court, Suite 120, Lake Mary, Florida 32746)
• Schedule: T-Th: 7:30-6:30, F: 7:00-6:00 (4 10s, Mondays off)
• Performs evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards.
• Designs and implements a treatment plan of care utilizing best practice standards and recommended techniques and modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient’s needs.
• Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary. Educates patients and their families about treatment plans and expected outcomes.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Documents accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policy and procedures.
• Provides discharge planning assistance and information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and follow-up services.
• Oversees the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides, according to established regulations and practice standards.
• Practices principles of professional development by maintaining clinical competencies, using best and/or evidence-based practices, and serving as a clinical instructor.
• Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities.
• Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department. Charges patient accurately and timely according to guidelines of the CPT code format and following insurance guidelines.
• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department, through effective time management and clinical efficiency and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required.
• Willingly adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers/programs as needed.
