Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida seeks an Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive patient care at Sports Med and Rehab Celebration. You will evaluate, plan, implement, and monitor treatment plans, educate families, and collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes.

This role requires OT licensure, BLS, and experience with lymphedema preferred. Full-time daytime schedule with potential shift variations and a sign-on bonus may apply.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field preferred.
• Experience with lymphedema preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards.
• Designs and implements a plan of care utilizing best practice standards and patient’s needs.
• Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
• Educates patients and their families about treatment plans and expected outcomes.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Documents accurately, completely, and timely following standards of practice and department policies.
• Provides discharge planning and guidance on adaptive equipment and follow-up services.
• Oversees OT assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides according to regulations.
• Maintains clinical competencies and participates in performance improvement activities.
• Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.

Job Description

• Sign-On bonus up to $10,000 for eligible candidates
• Relocation bonus up to $3,000 for eligible candidates
• Location: Sports Med and Rehab Celebration, 400 Celebration Place, Suite C200, Celebration 34747.
• Schedule: Weekdays. 4x10 hours (8AM-7PM) or 5x8 hour shifts (10AM-7PM Monday to Thursday; Friday 9am-6pm). Day off would have to be Wednesday or Thursday if working 4x10 hour shifts.
• Performs evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards.
• Designs and implements a treatment plan of care utilizing best practice standards and recommended techniques and modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient’s needs.
• Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
• Educates patients and their families about treatment plans and expected outcomes.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Documents accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policy and procedures.
• Provides discharge planning assistance and information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and follow-up services.
• Oversees the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides, according to established regulations and practice standards.
• Practices principles of professional development by maintaining clinical competencies, using best and/or evidence-based practices, and serving as a clinical instructor.
• Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities.
• Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
• Charges patient accurately and timely according to guidelines of the CPT code format and following insurance guidelines.
• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department, through effective time management and clinical efficiency and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required.
• Willingly adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers/programs as needed.
