Job summary

PVH Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, WV is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct outpatient nursing care and support to physicians. You will screen patients, assist with examinations, administer medications as ordered, and coordinate with Providers to ensure timely visits.

This role requires an active LPN license in the state, BLS certification within 30 days of hire, and demonstrates compassionate patient care in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license issued by the state where services are provided.
• Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient medical office setting.
• Uses standards of care and standards of practice to guide care delivery.
• Administers intramuscular, subcutaneous, and oral medications as ordered.
• Consults with the Provider or RN to seek guidance in delivery of nursing care.
• Obtains instruction and supervision as necessary from the Provider or RN.
• Performs designated therapeutic procedures to patients as needed.
• Observes, records and reports patient concerns, symptoms, reactions and progress.
• Assists Providers and the RN with examinations and procedures.
• Utilizes available supplies to contain patient costs.
• Provide emotional support to patients and/or families.
• Participate in problem solving and decision making in the outpatient unit.
