Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking an LPN to join our Surgical Day Care Team on the Lowell General Main Campus. The LPN Outpatient will work under the direction of the registered nurse to plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients, providing support to patients and families in a caring environment.

This role requires Massachusetts LPN licensure and Basic Life Support certification with 32 hours per week, 9am-5:30pm, four days weekly, no weekends or holiday requirements.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts LPN license is required.
• Basic Life Support Certification is required.
• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply the medical/nursing plan of care under RN supervision.
• Provide direct patient care within the primary nursing model while ensuring safety and dignity.
• Perform nursing interventions, administer medications, and follow established policies.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse promptly.
• Document all nursing actions and patient responses in the medical record.
• Collaborate with the health care team to support patient goals and family education.
• Support discharge planning and provide discharge instructions to patients and families.
• Maintain professional practice and stay current with nursing standards and policies.
