Job summary

Inova Pulmonology is hiring a dedicated Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 for a full-time day shift in Fairfax, VA. The role centers on patient care coordination, medication administration, and documentation under physician supervision.

The LPN 2 will collaborate with the healthcare team to support chronic care plans and ensure quality, timely patient services at Inova Pulmonology.

Qualifications

• Education: Vocational/Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing.
• License: Virginia LPN license.
• Experience: 2 years nursing in hospital or clinic.
• Certification: BLS from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates referrals for chronic conditions and follow-up as per care plan.
• Administers prescribed oral and intramuscular medications under physician supervision.
• Communicates effectively with healthcare team, patients, and families; supports team goals.
• Maintains and reviews patient medical records, notes and physician orders; documents care activities per standards.

Inova Pulmonology is looking for a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 to join the team. This role will be full time day position, Monday – Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinates referrals for patient chronic care conditions and follow up care as indicated by the initial care plan of the specialist and/or primary care physician.
• Administers prescribed oral and intramuscular medications, therapies and treatments following practical nursing standards and under the direct supervision of the physician.
• Effectively communicates with healthcare team members, patients and families; Supports healthcare team members to achieve team goals and assigns appropriate tasks to care assistants.
• Maintains and reviews patient medical records, notes and physician orders; Documents all patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards and legal requirements for medical facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Vocational / Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing
• License: Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Experience: 2 years of nursing practice in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association
