Job summary

Penn State Health is seeking a phlebotomist to work in the Camp Hill outpatient lab, performing venipuncture, patient registration, and proper specimen handling. You will enter physician orders, verify patient demographics and insurance information, and ensure compliance with lab regulations.

Join a fast-paced team of nurses, office staff, and providers serving up to 300 patients daily across specialties including Cardiology, Surgery, and Obstetrics.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months experience in Phlebotomy required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures on adult and pediatric patients and ensure orders are entered accurately into the Laboratory information system.
• Verify patient demographic information and insurance data in the hospital registration system.
• Obtain ABNs and insurance authorization forms; retrieve specimens for transport to the Clinical Laboratory.
• Process specimens for testing, referral, or storage according to established criteria.
• Maintain quality control records and assist with laboratory operations as needed.
• Greet and receive patients presenting for laboratory services.
