Job summary

Northeast Healthcare Recruitment seeks a Hematology-Oncology Physician for a locum tenens assignment in Pendleton, OR. The role focuses on outpatient care, including hospital-based outpatient services and chemotherapy program oversight.

Expected patient volume is 15–18 per day with bone marrow biopsies; there are no inpatient duties. Schedules are Days, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Thursday, with flexibility to consider a 3-day workweek.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in hematology and medical oncology or board-eligible in medical oncology.
• Active Oregon medical license required.
• Completion of residency and fellowship training in relevant fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient hematology and oncology consultations and ongoing patient management.
• Direct and oversee the hospital-based outpatient chemotherapy program.
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans for hematologic disorders and malignancies.
• Perform bone marrow biopsies.
• Monitor treatment response and manage side effects.
• Coordinate care with nursing staff and oncology teams and ensure accurate documentation in EMR.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in eClinicalWorks and Meditech.
