Job summary

Veterans in Healthcare seeks an Endoscopy Technician for the Outpatient MNHV Endoscopy Center in State College, PA. You will assist in patient care under RN/physician supervision and support endoscopy procedures with emphasis on aseptic technique and equipment readiness.

The role requires a Surgical Technologist background or equivalent experience, BLS certification, and strong communication. Prior endoscopy unit experience is preferred; HS diploma may suffice with appropriate training.

Qualifications

• Must have strong patient-care skills and basic bedside nursing support.
• Experience with endoscopy instrumentation and aseptic technique.
• Familiarity with scheduling and patient-charting systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Apply aseptic technique and infection-control practices.
• Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to endoscopy procedures.
• Maintain procedures, equipment, and standards of care.
• Proficiently set up, operate, maintain, and clean center equipment.
• Assist in data collection for patient needs and vital signs.
• Support GI nurse and physician in care plan implementation.
• Assist during diagnostic/therapeutic procedures to promote patient outcomes.
• Reprocesses and maintains equipment per standards and instructions.
• Know location and function of emergency equipment and assist in emergencies.
