Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Westwood, KS, is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 position within the Clinical Advancement Program. The role provides and coordinates clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned patient group, with delegation to direct care staff when appropriate.

As part of the End Stage Kidney Disease care team, you will participate in teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions under supervision and with guidance from the Supervisor, Clinical Educator, or team of RNs.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during dialysis and updates treatment plan as needed.
• Educates patients and families on care, treatment options, and disease management.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with direct care staff.
• Administers medications as prescribed or by approved algorithms and documents effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource for the healthcare team and participates in staff training.
• Ensures correct laboratory collection, processing and shipping procedures.
• Updates nursing assessment and care plan in coordination with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• May travel to training sites or other facilities as required.

Nephrology nursing (entry-level)

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Current appropriate state licensure

CPR BLS Certification
