Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking an Outpatient Counselor for Substance Use Disorder at our Carlisle, PA location. The role supports outpatient and intensive outpatient services, managing a caseload, completing required documentation, and delivering evidence‑based counseling to individuals and groups.

The position operates Monday–Friday with day and evening hours; offers evening shift differentials, weekly productivity bonuses, and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in Counseling, Social Work, Chemical Dependency, Psychology or other related field
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in Counseling, Social Work, Chemical Dependency, Psychology or other related field and one year of clinical experience
• Associate's degree from an accredited college with a major in Counseling, Social Work, Chemical Dependency, Psychology or other related field and two years of clinical experience
• Licensed RN with 1 year of counseling experience in a health/human services field
• Certified addictions counselor

Responsibilities

• Maintaining caseload meeting the needs of the patients and following regulatory guidelines
• Ensure completion of all required paperwork (i.e. psychosocial summary, treatment plan, progress notes etcetera) as outlined by regulation both accurately and timely
• Provides evidence-based and other approved counseling techniques and interventions to facilitate client success
• Offer assessment, individual, and group sessions
• Provides appropriate interventions to facilitate engagement of non-compliant patients
