Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• RHIT/CPC/CCS certification or five years coding experience.
• 1–2 years college coursework in related fields preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and coding systems.
• Minimum of two years coding experience; specialty coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and code complex diagnostic and procedural information per guidelines.
• Abstract and compile patient data to support research, quality initiatives, and administrative decisions.
• Ensure coding submissions comply with guidelines, payer policies, regulatory requirements, and standards.
• Optimize reimbursement accuracy with meticulous attention to detail and coding integrity.
• Identify coding trends to support process improvements.
