Qualifications

• High School diploma with Associate Degree from accredited HIM program or certificate in coding from an accredited college.
• 2-5 years of acute care hospital outpatient coding experience within the past five years.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary clinic including surgeries and/or Emergency Department coding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to extract data.
• Assign and sequence diagnostic codes using appropriate classification systems.
• Maintain coding productivity and quality for outpatient services.
