The role you’ll contribute:

The Coding Quality Auditor, under supervision of the Outpatient Coding Manager, is responsible for internal coding audits and clinical quality reviews. The auditor will collaborate with the Outpatient Operations Manager to ensure data integrity, provide education and training to coding staff, and serve as a resource organization-wide on coding issues. The role involves active participation in excellent customer service and maintaining respectful relationships.

• Codes and abstracts outpatient charts following ICD-10-CM, Coding Guidelines, CPT, and payor requirements.
• Facilitates timely department interactions to resolve coding issues.
• Mentors and educates coders.
• Discusses documentation and optimization with clinical staff, querying physicians as needed.
• Adheres to AHIMA ethical coding standards.
• Reviews payer denials and maintains productivity standards.
• Maintains 98% accuracy rate and assists in billing and reporting processes.
• Stays updated on coding guidelines, industry changes, and reimbursement requirements.
• Utilizes coding software and resources effectively.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Minimum of 3 years’ outpatient coding experience
• CPC or CCS certification
