Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking an Outpatient Coder-Edits responsible for reviewing and resolving outpatient coding alerts and edits. You will ensure accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS assignments to maximize reimbursement while complying with coding standards.

Responsibilities include using the Bill Scrubber System, entering root-cause data, and attending ongoing coding education. At CHS, delivering accurate, timely claims is essential to sustaining revenue and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or related field preferred.
• One year coding certification in HIM preferred.
• Three years outpatient coding experience in an acute care hospital or healthcare system required.

Responsibilities

• Modify and complete outpatient coding edits using ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS.
• Work in Bill Scrubber System (SSI) as required.
• Enter edit root cause data in Fluency Time Capture for management.
• Attend coding education sessions as scheduled.
• Perform other special projects or duties as assigned.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and productivity levels.
• May perform work of lower level Coding Edit Resolution classifications.
